Hi StanFinished reading Tobin Goes Cuckoo for the second time and just wanted to thank you for the enjoyment you have given me over the years. I loved revisiting with Russ and enjoyed every minute of it. I have two questions firstly is Russ' name pronounced Toe Bin or Tob Bin. Secondly are you writing of have you written any more Tobin books.I know publishing is a pain but it works well as a ebook.Thank you againYour mate from down under Garysmile

Hi Stan Well it's Christmas day! Well it is in Canada anyway. Yep our Man has just been woken by Buzz and is off skating at Greg Douglas's.Anyway I'd like to say (and maybe be the first to say) A Very Merry Christmas to you and your family and a Happy New Year.Any news on the book or film yet?Are we going to receive a jovial Christmas message like last year. Maybe you could send one to my son 12. He was knocked down by a car 4 weeks ago and totally fractured his shoulder though thankfully there was no other damage and he is really looking forward to Christmas like all of us. He was operated on and has a titanium plate in his arm which should be removed in a couple of months. It just means his football seasons over. Shame as they had a 100% record.Anyway kindest regards as always Tony

Stanley Morgan Sunday, 12 December 2010 09:31

Hi Stanley I felt I must drop you a line to say how much pleasure your novels (in particular Russ Tobin stories)gave my father and I in the late 70's.My father sadly died this year and I inherited a few of your books - none of them Tobin ones strangely - and they brought back so many happy memories of my late teens. I think that Russ Tobin was probably the man that dad would have liked to have been remembered as. A true gentleman with a love for beautiful women and always with a humerous tale to tell.I have ordered several of the Tobin books now and really look forward to reading them again.Best wishes and thanks John

I am so glad I fell over this website. Stan I have to thank you for all the pleasure and laughter you have given me over the years. I read your books firstly in the 70s and then later I found a couple in a secondhand book shop. I went on the scrounge around and was able to find all the Russ Tobin books and some of the Flyboys and I enjoyed them all over again and again. I was wondering what to do with my collection when I am no longer around and that made me wonder if there were other fans out there. Anyway I would like to tell you how much I love your work. Thanks ever so much for writing them.:-D

Hi again Stan.Well I've got through Cuckoo and The Sewing Machine Man and then of course onto Debt Collector. I enjoyed it so much that I started reading it again before going on to The Courier. I got to the chapter A Long Long.........Day when the replacement I'd ordered arrived. (I've read them so many times maybe 30 that many are falling apart so I have started to get better copies)and have started reading that from the beginning.I looked through the rest of my collection and realised that I need to replace quite a few more. As these cost so much (2nd hand) is there any way to push selective reprints or would this cost too much? As you can see I still greatly enjoy these books and am still hoping we can see a new one (maybe based on the old Tobin) this year????????Kind regards Tony

Stanley Morgan Friday, 20 August 2010 06:19
Hi Tony,Boyyou must rank as the Tobin fan of all time!I'm afraid reprints are not possible. I get my occasional replacements from AbeBooks. Many thanksonce againfor writing. You really make my day.All the best...and happy reading.Stan

I was looking through my old emails and found it was five years ago that I posted a message on this site about buying 'Cuckoo' - with the delightful result of buying my copy and having it signed by the man himself - Stanley Morgan. So now I'm reading through what people are posting these days and hell one guy here had an idea-and-a-half! A Tobin boxed set!! If this ever comes to fruitition I'm putting my name down for one!To date I have followed in Russ Tobin's footsteps - Liverpool London Majorca Kenya Bahamas Miami (not been to Canada yet) Las Vegas LA and Ireland. I've still to add Canada Tahiti and Oz. I'll get there yet....

Stanley Morgan Friday, 21 May 2010 13:03
Thank you so much for writingMartin. It's great to hear from you.The problem with a boxed set would be the number of books involved - nineteen would require a pretty big box!But I love the idea.Happy travels.Very best wishes,Stanley

Congratulations Stanley on many fine and humurous books you wroteits been a while since I read any of themsome years now but often something pops into my mind from the many adventures of Russ Tobin...probably as I was somewhat very similar to him in my younger days. I hope the film comes to fruition and is very successful for you.

Dear Stanley I just found the site and had to thank you for all the years of pleasure you have given me and my friends. When I was at school I introduced many friends to Russ Tobin and his expolits. I am now fifty and a couple of old schools mates still call me Russ! One of my friends is now Chairman of a huge global advertising agency and I still call him Buzz(Malone). It is his 50th birthday tomorrow and I am going to celebrate with him in Chelsea. I really wanted to get him the box set of the Tobin novels. Do you know where I might find them? If you could send him a message via this site that would be wonderful. his name is Ian (Buzz) and a 50th birthday greeting from you would make his birthday. Thanks again for all the laughs.Warm regards Paul
